From a quarter acre block of vines planted next to our dam wall, this wine is created through a daring blend of processes that mixes the best of old-world winemaking techniques with modern tools. Complex, with a diversity of aromatics and an opulent palate, the Viognier retains an elegance more commonly associated with a cooler climate. Cellar door price: $41.50.
Hentley Farm Grenache Rosé 2010
Our 2009 Rosé won the Trophy for 'Best Rosé' in the Barossa Valley Wine Show last year - and this year's vintage is looking even better! Made in the Provençal food-friendly style, this is a bone dry Rosé for serious wine drinkers. Picked from low-yielding vines, one-third of the wine has spent time in French barriques and undergone malolactic fermentation. The result is a crisp but creamy, luscious drop demanding a second sip. 'The Exception' Riesling 2010
At Hentley Farm our philosophy is to produce single block and single vineyard wines from our Seppeltsfield Estate that are a true expression of ‘place'. There is an exception to every rule, and this Riesling is exactly that! The 2010 Exception displays an intensely lifted aromatic dominated by citrus fruits of lemon and lime, with underlying aromas of green apple and tropical passionfruit providing the complexity expected in a world class Riesling. The palate provides the perfect combination of fruit intensity and balanced acid, with the back palate texture and length created by the pre-fermentation solid suspension and use of minimal fining agents, ensuring that this Riesling has the ability to develop for many years to come.
