The results are in...
And we are thrilled to announce the best results we ever have received from Australia's leading wine critic, Mr James Halliday, in his 2012 edition of the highly acclaimed Australian wine guide 'The Wine Companion'.
This year, for the first time, Hentley Farm has not only received a 5 red-star rating (the highest one can achieve), but our winery name is also written in red, meaning that Mr Halliday considers Hentley Farm to be "generally recognised for having a long track record of excellence - truly the best of the best". Only 3.8% of all wineries across Australia have achieved this level, with only 10 being from the Barossa Valley region. We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by Mr Halliday in this way, and to be judged alongside such esteemed company while still being a relatively new winery in the Barossa and, indeed, in Australia.
A total of seven wines (our highest number ever) were scored in Mr Halliday's top category of 94 points and above, being "Outstanding" wines. Two wines were rated at 93 points, four wines at between 90 and 92 points, and one wine at 89 points.
