On the banks of the Greenock Creek, Otto Kasper planted a single block with two Cabernet parcels and a Shiraz parcel sitting side by side. This creates the perfect opportunity to make a single block of the great Australian blend, Shiraz Cabernet. Effectively, a blend of the best - our Clos Otto Shiraz and von Kasper Cabernet.

A big Barossa red in a heavy bottle, this has dense, deep, saturated purplish colour and a powerful nose of crushed dark berries, dried currants and roasting pan juices, skilfully balanced with a well-measured seasoning of toasty vanillin oak. It’s full-bodied, ripe and complete, with a flowing velvety texture and a solid backbone of ripe tannins supporting an appropriately long finish. Shiraz-cabernet blends have a long tradition in the Barossa Valley and this is a worthy example, hefty in build, but fresher and more refined than many.
